I am looking for a program, that computes the optimal palette. It should take a real-color-picture as input, the file-format should be gif, ans produce an 256-color-pixelfile, using almost every of the 256-colors of the palette. The palette should be computed in a way, that only a minimum of color-information from the original picture is deleted. I am looking for a public-domain program, that is avilable in sources or already compiled for unix/386 from interactive. From this site I can reach almost every ftp-server in the internet, as long as I get its internet-number. thanks in advance roger schwentker ironduke@fernuni-hagen.de
