Gary, this will mislead people!  This archive (Ver 2.1, but last updated
in January, not April) contains what looks like the C output of lex, but
not the lex source.  I can compile it, but it is very buggy, even
applied to the sample file provided.  I'll try the netlib version
tomorrow.
