At my company we have many Sun-machines where each one has the /var/spool/mail- directory NFS-mounted from a central mail server, this is a big problem when the mail-server goes down, due to the hard-mounting no one can login. This problem made me think about not having the mail-files mounted, but rather have them at the users home directory, say ~/Mailbox, and then reconfigure the sendmail.cf- and /usr/lib/Mail.rc files to deliver and read mail from the ~/Mailbox instead. Has anyone done this before, is it possible, what problem might i run into ? I will appreciate every answer. Thanks in advance ! ----------------------------------------------------- Lars Berntzon lab@techno.sth.cgl.se CGL Techno Sweden
