After scouring just about everywhere has discovered that there isn't much available for OS2. There is Waffle, FSUUCP, UUPC available, but all as DOS programs. These can be operated in a DOS window within OS2, but are required to be in the fore- ground. I suspect that RNEWS, RMAIL, and UUXQT could run in a background window, but the actual connect and transfer (UUCICO) needs to be up front. I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but I have yet to see OS2 do anything useful outside the office automation functions like word processing, spreadsheets and databases. You CAN get Maximus for OS2, and do a fido-link. But if you're after net.news, then you'd have to run something to toss the messages (mail & news) into fido-format. For this, you begin to talk Tim Pozar's ufgate, no small utility...Plus, you're in the realm of Binkley or some other frontend capable of discerning users from mail, and which kind of mail (ie: uucp or Yoohoo). If your heart is set on multi-tasking, you might have to consider XENIX or something like that. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob Kirkpatrick - Dog Ear'd Systems | A division of Brand-X of Spokane WA | "Einstein was probably one of *them*." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
