Apologies if this is a duplicate post, but it seemed to have been eaten
the first time.

Two tidbits I just read on DOS 5:

A TV news item delaing with the FTC anti-trust investigation of Microsoft.
The background footage showed machines shrink-wrapping boxes that were
clearly marked "MS-DOS 5.00 UPGRADE". Is an upgrade program like the one
that introduced Windows 3 planned? (e.g. prove you own ANY version of DOS
and get DOS 5 for a bargain price).

A rumor that May 12 is the scheduled announcement/availability date.
