The markings on the card and the contents of the adapter definition file identify it as a Trantor T228 card. The disk that came with it says "Copyright 1988-1990 NEC Technologies, Inc and Copyright 1988-1990 Trantor Systems. Ltd." I sent it back to the vendor (Valcom, aka Professional Computer Center 111 N Canal, Chicago, IL) because it didn't work. Here's what happens: when I install it in an IBM PS/2 55SX and boot after running autoconfig, the PS/2 locks up -- it doesn't even get to the point of counting through the memory (that's the power on self test, right?) I received a replacement today and it behaves the same way. The CD-ROM drive, an NEC CDR-72, was also replaced, but they didn't send back the power cord, scsi cable, terminator, user manual, or disc caddy! Does anyone have experience with this card? Am I all wet because I'm doing this without having any device connected to the adapter? I, too, would appreciate any comments on experiences with SCSI adapters in IBM PS/2 55SX's.
