Configuration: About 20 Macintoshes, connected by Phonenet
and a Nuvotech starcontroller, and a Adobe Emerald
PostScript Rip in an Autologic typesetter.

Problem: very slow typesetting, random PostScript errors,
hanging print-jobs. When testing the Emerald with InterPoll:
5 to 20 percent lost packets.

The communication between the Macs is free of problems.
Replace the Emerald by a LaserWriter and everything is fine.
So the network and the starcontroller are OK.

But connect one Macintosh directly to the Emerald, without
starcontroller, and the problems are gone too. So the Emerald is
OK too.

Any help???
