I know that this is looking a bit into the future, but in the name of portability ...

Does anyone know what facilities OSF/1 will have for writing device drivers?  Will
OSF/1 have a facility for writing device drivers (without hacking the kernel).  We
use GPIO a great deal, like it very much, and a greatly concerned that we can't do
the same sort of things with OSF/1.
