Keywords: MIDI Message-ID: Date: 24 Apr 91 12:40:42 GMT Organization: University of Oldenburg, Germany Lines: 30 Who can help me ?? I have a MIDI-Keyboard and a PC/XT. I want to connect the Keyboard with my Computer and so I need a MIDI-Interface. Because being very expensive and needing only for bankloading (only get serial datas of Keyboard and put serial datas to Keyboard) I want to make my interface in my way. There are many Interface-Chips (for example the 6402), who would do the job even with the high MIDI-Transfer-speed of 32kBaud. It could be connected to the parallel-printer-port and would transfer a parallel 8-Bit coming of computer in serial way to the keyboard, adding auto- matically Start- and Stopbits. The same way in other direction (all this with one cheaply Chip !) Who has made some experience with such selfmade MIDI-Interface ?? Who can help me in making such thing or (if there is no other way) who can give me some adresses having a very cheap MIDI-Interface ?? Maybe it is able to buy a normal RS232-Interface with special speed (because the "normal" RS232-speed ends at 19200 Baud), so it could do my job ?? I hope for positive informations..... ------------------------------------- E-Mail-Address: Frank2.Simon@arbi.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de *--------------------------------------------* * I am because somebody dreams me ! * *--------------------------------------------* ----------------------------------------------------------------------
