Well, there is a BIG difference between the minimum and what is 'good'.
These are the guidelines that I go by:


		Plane UNIX		With X/Motif/Openlook
	minimum		useable		minimum		useable
	-------		-------		-------		-------
CPU	386sx/20	386DX/25	386sx/20	386dx/25
RAM	6 meg		6 meg		8 meg		12 meg
Disk	60 meg		120+ meg	80 meg		150+ meg

Video is an art more than anything else.   Once you decide what version of
UNIX you are getting, call their tech support line for reccomendations on
what Video Card to get (for use with X)-- while your at it, ask them about
mice and hard drive controllers.  Also ask them for a 'compatability list'.

When you get your hard drive, buy the biggest you can find.  You'd be suprised
how fast you'll chew up 200+meg of space.
