Message-ID: <11482@uwm.edu> Date: 27 Apr 91 21:47:45 GMT Sender: news@uwm.edu Followup-To: comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware Organization: University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Lines: 23 Originator: bnk@csd4.csd.uwm.edu I tried to use the script "AUTOLOG" that is availiable for TELIX that records a login sequence, then complies a script from it using telix's SALT language. It basically uses the "if(waitfor ""). I encountered a problem though, as my system at school displays the "tty" terminal number when i login. For example, the prompt I see when i Log in is: (ttyxx) Login: where the xx's represent the tty that my modem uses on that particular call. the problem is that those xx's are not identically the same every time i log in, thus the "if (waitfor " does not recognize this. Is anyone familiar enough with the SALT language to suggest a fix?? I tried looking for a way to have the autolog script scan over the "ttyxx" part, and just look for the "login:" part, but I cant figure it out. I know this is not a BIG deal to have a autologin script to answer a few prompts, but I was board, I tried to do it just for kicks and could not do it, and now, I guess Im one of those people that just can't let it go.... and im FRUSTRATED! Thanks, Bob keenan
