Message-ID: <20848.28183464@oregon.uoregon.edu> Date: 26 Apr 91 21:08:36 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: University of Oregon Lines: 20 Hi, I just installed a new hardisk into my computer, however, I am having problems to get it running: 1. Equipments: Award BIOS, 386 compatible. HD in question: Microscience 120MB/RLL HD. The HD has 1314 cylinders (>1024 !!) 2. I have successfully installed the hardware, without seeing smoke, everything seems to be working. Then, I used Debug to invoke the low level formatting routing in my DTK RLL controller. So everything goes smoothly, until completed the low level formatting. 3. After (2), I suppose I am to run FDISK, then follow by FORMAT. However, in the FDISK shell, I am unable to get FDISK to recognize by newly installed drive, receiving the "invalid drive" error message. Someone out there can help me? E-mail response appreciated.
