Message-ID: <9104270057.AA22871@wugate.wustl.edu> Date: 27 Apr 91 00:57:13 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Lines: 19 HELP! I have an everex streaming tape controller, model 811, quick 02, the newest version of everex streaming tape software, and a CORE tape backup, external, CT60E. After purchasing this assortment at a clearance sale, I have since been told by an everex tech(I can not find core's #) that everex run a pal chip in their drives to recognize the everex controller. Why this card was ever bundled with the core tapedrive, I don't know. Anyway, guess what? Everytime I run the tape test, I get "bad ID in configuration" messages after it hangs up at various parts of the test. I guess I need advice. I have been told that sytos? streaming tape software may run with this combo. Or do I need to buy a core controller(which, by the way, no one sells anymore)? Any and all advice appreciated and\or paid for. thanx, jeff fulford 314 362 7474 days 423 9439 nights email fineberg@wums2.wustl.edu
