Keywords: PS/2, IDE, hard-drive, pain, suffering Message-ID: <73699@brunix.UUCP> Date: 27 Apr 91 02:39:40 GMT Sender: news@brunix.UUCP Reply-To: gt1096b@prism.gatech.edu (Mark Curry) Distribution: comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware Organization: GaTech Lines: 27 (Please reply via email to gt1096b@prism.gatech.edu.) I recently ordered a hard-drive from a mail order outfit and have been installing it into my computer. I seem to have successfully gotten power to the hard drive, and I've connected it to the interface board, yet I cannot get *any* software to acknowledge its existence. I have the following setup: IBM PS/2 Model 30/286 (512k, one 3.5" 1.44meg floppy). Generic IDE interface board for AT bus. Quantum IDE 52 meg hard drive. DiskManager v4.2. As I have tried virtually every piece of software having to do with hard drive formatting, and the installation appears to be correct, I must admit my total frustration. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. --Mark Curry (Please reply via email to gt1096b@prism.gatech.edu.)
