It looked really good (even on the 4 bit video as I don;t yet have enough VRAM to go to 8 and after deskpicture scaled it to fit). Imagine my dissappointment when I changed the bit depth of the monitor - *BOOM* Mac completely frozen - restart. Oh, I thought, must be an INIT clash or similar. I turned of *everything* except Deskpicture and Depthguage. I again changed the bit depth - *BOOM*. Aha! Depthguage is buggy. Remove it and restart. Use monitors in control panel to change bit depth - *BOOM*. SH*T. Reason that Deskpicture does not have enough memory to work with. Use heaptool to increase stack size by 256k. Restart and gain try to change bit depth - *BOOM*. Conclusion: Deskpicture (a) Doesn't work properly with multibit images, or (b) Doesn't work so well with LC's As the gif was originally 8 bit and displayed ok on the 4 bit setting I would tend to discount (a). Any suggestions?? Raymond. -- Raymond Wilson. email: raymond@cosc.canterbury.ac.nz snail: c/- Computer Science Department, University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
