I have a Mac + with 4 megs, a Quantum 40 meg, and have SCSI init installed. The results are CPU .87 Math 1.02 Disk 2.55 Overall 1.24 According to these results my mac is better than the SE. In addition, I did several speed test and found that the speed on the Plus is very similar to those on the SE. Given all the results I had obtained, I was pretty lucky in buying a Plus instead of a SE--I save at least one thousand dollars. Good news for SE owners.
