Wouldn't it be true that since I have a binary license for 'nroff', and other
NeXT users have binary license for 'nroff' that there would be no legal
problem
with someone sending me a binary copy? I could see problems with distributing
source code without a license, but I'm just asking for the binaries.

I thought that illegal duplication is the act of distributing software to
someone that does not has a license to use it. I believe the Supreme Court
ruled on that; i.e., you can copy software for archival purposes. 

I could go to my campus rep and get a copy from him. But that would require
me to pack up my entire NeXT and take it down to the campus. What difference
is there whether he copies it or someone from the net sends it to me?
