Let me clarify what I mean by a slight performance advantage.
An R3000 and a 68040 are both major improvements over something
like a micro vax 2.  On the other hand, I consider a 1.5 to 2
times improvement not so major.  Hence my calling it slight.

Don't confuse me for a 68040 apologist, however.  My first
choice for a pc was a decstation 3100 but the NeXT was half
the price.
