Message-ID: Date: 28 Apr 91 02:29:16 GMT Sender: news@idunno.Princeton.EDU Distribution: comp Organization: Cognitive Science Lab. Princeton University. Lines: 23 Several students here are trying to use the doublespace.sty file available from the archives on sun.soe.clarkson.edu. This produces output that looks approximlatey ``doublespaced,'' which is required for a variety of strange purposes such as bound dissertations, journal submissions, etc. The enviroment provides a singlespace environment which is very useful to singlespace things like quotations and references. Unfortunately among the several known bugs described in this file is one that is particulary problematic: "\begin{singlespace}\begin{quote} produces the wrong spacing before the quote (extra glue is inserted)." we need to use singlespaced quotes for lots of purposes, but the extra whitespace above it is very ugly. Since this is a frequently used feature, can anyone suggest a workaround? Alternatively, is there a better package to get approximately doublespaced output, which is smart enough to not doublespace tables, quotes, etc.?
