Mckay) Organization: Purdue University Lines: 20 I've just started managing a group of DECstation 3100's and oner of them refuses to allow a login using DECwindows. I type in a user name and passwd and after a short delay I get the Xprompter window again. Root can login in normally and users can login via telnet, rlogin or if the console is setup without the Xprompter line in /etc/ttys. I'm running Ultrix 4.1 and I have checked the binaries for login, dxsession, Xprompter and Xcfb against those on a working system. Any suggestions? I'm from a Sun shop and I have yet to find all the magic files, etc which make DECwindows work. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
