It does this immediately after exiting from a Dos prompt (either running Dos full screen or windowed). The problem has occured after using Zip Manager v3.01 although not very often. As near as I can tell it has occurred after using fmplayer 1.00 (fm10.zip on cica.) I do not know if this is causing the problem or not. I have since reverted back to sound.drv with the only improvement being in time to boot. This problem has also occurred to a friend when he was using player to play a .ROL file from floppy. Because the problem has happened to both of us I know it is not as a result of caching software or video boards and their video drivers. It only happens it 386 enhanced mode. Since the appearance of this problem I have been unable to run many dos apps from the dos prompt (while shelled out of windows) that I used to be able to run. These apps now violate system integrity and terminate dos but with no decrease in speed for Windows. I really have to no idea what is happening and if anyone knows please tell me why and what I can do to fix it. Is it possible I have found a Windows virus? Any help is greatly appreciated (and needed). Thank you. Jeff Bryer umbryer@ccu.umanitoba.ca -- umbryer@ccu.umanitoba.ca Jeff Bryer Genetics II
