If you are using a Zenith 386, go to your setup and change Speed (I think this
is the setting, something like that) from SMART to FAST.

This solves the problem for Zenith PCs, where the SMART setting causes the PC
to slow down for disk access and not speed back up.  Running FAST will not 
cause any problems.

This is probably technically wrong.  The action works, though.  I have 'fixed'
about 8 Zenith machines with whining users by doing this.  If I have mis-
explained why it happens, please kindly don't flame me.  I don't have time to
read it.
