If you can wait a couple months, an alternative will be Word Perfect for Windows. Apparently, Word Perfect for Windows (WP4W?) can do everything that Word for Windows can do and also comes with an almost limitless supply of printer drivers and has a text mode similar to Word Perfect 5.1.
