My network kernel 3C523.COM (may be different in your case) was not loaded correctly. I needed to enter: 3c523 -t 20 where the number after -t, 20, is the number of TCP connections that can be opened. Everything worked fine after I did that. BTW, 3C523.COM is from FTP Software. For those of you who wanted to know something about the performance of PC/XView, here are few words. I am pleased with the package so far. Although I have 8meg in my PS/2, window movement (using twm) is extrememly slow. Other than that everything is non-DOS like. Pushing to DOS via Alt-F1 uses up very little of 640K, and the response time is rather fast. I can wish for 6x10 fonts because I have 12" monitor, but the smallest font size is 7x14. If I continue to like the package, it might be worth buying 14" or 19" monitors. -- Binod Taterway | lubkt@spectrum.CC.Lehigh.EDU Sr. User Consultant | bt00@lehigh.BITNET Lehigh University Computing Center | (215) 758-3984 (off) Bethlehem, PA 18015 | (215) 758-4983 (fax)
