The Everex EverFax 24/96D is another version of this modem that
comes without DOS or MAC software and with proper firmware for
Class II operation for use with UNIX software like UNIFAX.  The
firmware is different in the 24/96E.  I sent a fax to Everex
sales to find a distributor who carries the 24/96D, but haven't
had a reply yet.  Merisel/Softsel carries the 96E but didn't have
any plans to carry the 96D when I talked to them last week.

I've been using the 96D for some time now with the UNIFAX
software and am quite satisfied with it.
