One of my favorite old-time/cult memories of a long
gone Sci-fi era (...) is the font used in "those days".

Does it have a name, and has it been TeXified???
And, by the way, what was it "really" used for? A pre-OCR?
I do believe it looks somewhat like this: (go ahead and
bend your imagination though :-)
