I know that this has been asked repeatedly, but I keep thinking I may have
missed some lead.

Has anyone done a filter to convert text only Postscript files to some
(poor) approximation for a line printer? For example, there is a program
"dvi2tty", which does its best for dvi files, with some of the same
inherent limitations.
