When the new CACM format started, it looked to me like someone was having a competition on how many different fonts could be used in a single publication (or on a single page). Even if the content remains the same, the look of the publication has become really "cheap". It's as if they're trying to become a more "mainstream" publication (like "Byte", et.al.). I hope not.
