The advantage is that PostScript file will be VERY small and can also easily be scaled (note that it will not necessarily scale well to small sizes without care - but it should work reasonably well). [For example the NSF logo with a minature globe, the letters for "National Science Foundation" and the people holding hands around the globe turns into about 900 lines (20K bytes) of PostScript.
