In particular, what is the difference between: (a) The BUFFERS parameter in CONFIG.SYS? (b) The DISKCACHE parameter in CONFIG.SYS? (c) The /c switch in installing HPFS? How do these affect operation of (a) A FAT fixed disk filesystem (b) A HPFS fixed disk filesystem (c) A floppy disk filesystem Also, what if anything does all this have to do with machines that are advertising as having a disk controller with a built-in cache. Thanks to all disk buffering mavens. -Paul
