I'm back from DMCC6. Good conferences. Portland was dry (!) for three
days. Intel was a very gracious host. Distributed memory machines seem
to be maturing, which is good news.

My thanks to Raghu Toppur who tried to master the vagaries of net moderation
with a five minute tutorial.

I understand some of the mail sites received multiple copies of some
messages. I apologize for this; I suspect that this was accidental. If
