There is not an implementation of dip 10589 in ISODE. However, the Unversity of Wisconsin has a publically available implementation of DP 10589 integrated with a version of gated. I have included the announcement of this software below. A N N O U N C E M E N T We are pleased to announce the initial release of an implementation of the ISO IS-IS Intra-Domain Routing Protocol (ISO DP 10589) with extensions to support routing in TCP/IP and dual environments (RFC 1195). This release will be known as Wisconsin Dual IS-IS Version 1.0 (alpha) or "WISIS". WISIS is integrated into the gated routing demon from Cornell University. WISIS can be run in either "simulated" or "real" mode. When run in simu- lated mode, IS-IS routing packets are sent to a network-link simulator. The simulated mode allows one to test different topologies without real hardware links. Release 1.0 has been run in simulated mode on a DecStation running Ultrix 3.1 and on a Vax running 4.3 Reno. When run in real mode, routing packets are sent over real links. This mode requires OSI support from the operating system that is available under Berkeley 4.3 Reno. Currently, three releases of WISIS are planned. The initial release, 1.0 (alpha) is available today. This release includes the functionality of most of DP 10589 with extensions for dual environments. However, the initial release has not been tested nor tuned exten- sively. In addition, release 1.0 is based upon an older release of Gated (2.0). Release 1.0 is made available primarily as a courtesy to those who are interested in studying the implementation and testing the simulation mode. The second release 2.0 (beta) will occur within 2 months of the initial release. This release may include bug fixes and minor enhancements. Release 2.0 will interoperate with at least one other implementation. The third release of WISIS will be integrated with the latest version of Gated.
