Lines: 35 I am wanting to get some fun (music etc) out of an A1000 I've had around for a while on a dedicated task. It's usually attached to a 1060 Sidecar, which has some uses - notably access to a hard-card on the PC side. The problem is lack of memory, particularly when driving the Sidecar, as the 1000 only has its original 512K. What I want is some CHEAP expansion options. Accessory support for the 1000 seems almost non-existent in UK ads., although there are endless tantalising ads. for A500 512K expansion boards at manageable prices (c#30). Am I being too naive in supposing there must be some reasonably straightforward relationship between the A1000 expansion bus and the A500 trap-door socket? I don't mind wielding a soldering iron, so if it were only a matter of a few decoder chips etc., I'd be keen to try a DIY job on linking up an A500 memory board. The A1000 bus is passed through to a socket inside the Sidecar, so it could even be housed there. So the kind of help I need:- * Are there any DIY circuit plans/diagrams etc. for the kind of project I've outlined? * Does anyone have info. on the A500 trap-door connector (and ideally how it relates to the expansion bus)? * Are there any UK sources for memory expansion actually intended for the Sidecar (its manual talks of 1Meg boards being available), or DIY versions of this approach? * Any other ideas? Thanks. --------------------------- Michael Bryant bryant@uk.ac.lancs.comp Department of Linguistics University of Lancaster
