No, it didn't. My post wasn't directed against any particular poster, rather to prevent people from thinking that this sort of thing is ok. When I make individual replies to this kind of post, I am careful to be very polite. However, this latest rash of mal-postings in such a short time period leads me to beleive that people are seeing other postings and thinking that it's ok, since everyone else does it. > >I have noticed from time to time that people advertise Amiga items here. I did not reply to this post. I made no attributions, and had an entirely different subject line. The timing was merely co-incidental. I do have close friends :-) > In sum, Please try to educate instead of flame! Flame wars simply make people > mad, and then they'll do things just to spite you. They can go aheead if they want. You don't sell things by spiting potential customers. The only harm done is to themselves. My post wasn't intended as a flame against anyone, as everyone makes mistakes (and one person, for example, just returned to the newsgroup and wasn't aware of the re-orginization). Rather, my purpose was to give a firm warning on the subject, and to try to prevent further trouble. I'm not trying to be the net.police, I'm just trying to give a firm statement of my opinion. People most often do what's right, they just don't always know what that is. No offence intended, sorry if it appeared that way. -- Tyler "Ty" Sarna tsarna@polar.bowdoin.edu "I protest Captain!
