(Funny...Steve Jobs was trying to tell that to everybody at Apple a few years back, and guess what happened to him?) What if you want more serial ports for a multi-line BBS, or data acquisition (A/D & D/A), networking (can be Ethernet, AppleTalk, or anything else), send-fax, or any of several other things? You're up a creek if you don't have slots.
