This endless search for more speed certainly doesn't make me want to jump up and down. I'd rather see elegance, beauty, thought,etc...put into problems than lines of programmers/users churning out endless code and speadsheets. I'm not saying that there isn't a time and place for fast computers. I am saying it's relatively unimportant in the larger scheme of things.
