The 1400XL had the voice synthesis and built in modem of the better known XLD, but not the built in drives. The 1600XL, if I remember correctly, would have been a CP/M machine. Other vaporware/unreleased 8 bit stuff: 1090 Expansion Box. Lets you plug in various boards, such as CP/M. Last heard as a doorstop at Antic Magazine. (really!) A Portable 65XE with built in 5" monitor. Color and black and white thermal printers. A music based XE. If anyone needs the model numbers, I can dig them up. -- the good guys!
