(At some stage, the problem seemed to just go away...) To add to 'odd behavior in Excel,' has anyone else seen Excel throw up a dialog when you double-click a document in the Finder? This is what it looks like: The file "Microsoft Excel" could not be opened or printed (-37) The screwy thing about this is that I double-clicked a DOCUMENT, not the program! How does the finder get "Microsoft Excel" as the document name when in fact I clicked on "Hygroscopic time Const"? Note that the -37 means "Bad name" on my list of system error codes. Also note that double-clicking the document a second time (after dismissing the dialog) will almost ALWAYS result in a proper launch of Excel and opening of the document. This has happened to me with Excel 2.2/2.2a on a IIx with System 6.0.7, a IIfx with System 6.0.7, and a IIcx with System 6.0.5. The desktop has been rebuilt numerous times.... -- | Paul E.
