For Mac II and Mac IIx, such an upgrade is available but that's just a board swap (same form factor for the circuit boards)-cost is $3000 ($2300 edu.). There is an upgrade from the IIcx to the IIci (again, circuit boards have the same form factor) for $1800 edu. (don't know the retail). Norman
