You bet; it works via the Get Info command.  Open the Get Info window
for any application, folder, or hard disk. Click on the icon. Choose
PASTE to put your new icon in it's place.  VERY nice for folders; good
visual identification for when you don't want to read ALL the names of
the 87 folders in your 'Development' folder :-)
