I was re-reading the release notes when I got a piece of email from John Alsop at Sea Change. He suggested I might have something connected to ttya that was asserting DCD and confusing the program. I do indeed have a Heathkit weather computer hooked to ttya and it does indeed assert DCD. I wasn't aware that you could install at 1200 baud from ttya or 9600 baud from ttyb but that's what the book says. I didn't have time to get backed up, verified, and re-installed and make the Nucon this evening but I'll do it first thing in the morning. T H A N K S A B U N C H J O H N A L S O P ! ! ! I shudder to think of the crazy things I might have tried without ever finding out what was wrong. Sheesh! I feel kind of silly, but I'm delighted to have the answer. -- Bill Kennedy uucp {att,cs.utexas.edu,pyramid!daver}!ssbn.wlk.com!bill internet bill@ssbn.WLK.COM or ssbn!bill@attmail.COM
