X was designed totally as a client-server, networked graphics model. I'm not sure if the NeXT display model is as well abstracted. If not, then this will require a large bandwidth of your network, and the desire to put a large number of "NeXT Terminals" at a sight would bring an ethernet to it's knees. If it is suitable abstracted, most clients would still be slow as christmas over a 9600 serial connection.
