If I look at the listing for programs such as /bin/passwd under the browser (with the listing view) the permissions are -rwxr-xr-x but as we all know this is really a setuid program. If you look at the same thing in the terminal (using ls -l ) you see that indeed it is has permissions -rwsr-xr-x. Anyone know why the browser hides the SUID information? Security? (ha ha ha) Hummm, another vast question for us anal retentive types to ponder.
