Perhaps I wasn't paying attention and this was already discussed, but has
anyone connected a Hewlett Packard PaintJet to his/her Iris?  It is 
spec'ed at 180 dpi and up to 16.8 million colors (I don't know how those
trade off).  Price is ~$950 for the base model, ~$1745 for the XL.

Sounds like a reasonable poor-man's alternative for color output.
