Windows TeX? Message-ID: <7FB6F5430D9F01E012@HKUCC.BITNET> Date: 2 May 91 12:59:00 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Lines: 20 I am relatively new to this list, so I apologise if these questions have been asked. I am looking for two things, for the various MS-DOS systems we are running here: 1. A nice, small, DVI previewer that works on Hercules screens (a port of DVIVGA would be nice ;-) The only one I have is from the DOSTeX package, and that will only load about 14 fonts before crashing! This frustrates my colleagues and students... 2. A Windows 3.0 port of TeX itself. I personally use sbTeX, DVIMSWIN, and a small Windows editor to run LaTeX, and I am generally pleased with the result, but one needs a 386 to put sbTeX into a window, where it belongs, so that one can correct input easily at each error message. [No problem for me, but not all our PCs are 386's ;-( ] Mike Reid, Physics, Hong Kong University
