However, none of it helped me much. I have read the FAQ in comp.windows.x but I haven't seen a FAQ in gnu.emacs.help....so here goes: I can invoke EMACS for X (i.e. emacs as an X client) perfectly fine on the host machine. However, when I try to invoke an emacs client on a remote host to use my display...it says "X server not responding". Does anyone know WHY? I can run an xterm no problem within the same shell process that emacs bombs out on. Replies either by mail or note the Followup-To line.
