(re: Xwindows intfc to OS2) Message-ID: <9104301229.AA17916@bunny.gte.com> Sender: daemon@athena.mit.edu (Mr Background) Organization: The Internet Date: 30 Apr 91 12:29:10 GMT Lines: 23 Does anybody have any insight into Xwindows under OS/2? My scenario: I've got a 386 PC with OS/2 running some home-made DSP application tools and it uses the Presentation Manager to paint lots of pretty graphs and pictures on the PC monitor. I want to integrate this with a larger signal processing system that will use a Sun SPARCStation2 as a system controller/user interface. The Sun will be running Xwindows under SunOS 4.1(?). I need to open a window on the Sun and have it contain the graphics from the OS/2 machine. The two platforms will be connected with Ethernet and TCP/IP (perhaps NFS as well). 1) Is anybody aware of an Xwindows package available for the OS/2 machine? 2) Is there a better way to work the interface while maximizing use of off-the-shelf software? Any responses are appreciated: Scott Ryser GTE Govt Systems Rockville MD (301) 294-8427 RYSER_SA%NCSD.DCNET@GTE.COM
