You actually need the ram card to get speech out of this item that is starting to look like vapor hardware? I havn't often jumped on the anti-TSI bandwagon, but this one has me wanting to take the reins! In the interviews I've heard where the BrailleMate was being announced, and when I called TSI and tried to twist information out of a representative about this, never was it mentioned that the ram card was necessary to get speech. It ain't often I feel pity, but indeed, I feel just that for anyone who put bucks down on one of these suckers! Sort of makes that little Braille 'n Speak I have sitting here seem all the more valuable! Willie ...
