Quickdraw seems to use the bitmap whenever it is available because it's faster and more accurate than having to construct it. I have also had trouble with the UMICH truetypes not printing to the laserwriter, although they seem to work on an imagewriter without a hitch. I think there is some error in the conversion because the computer still looks for the postscript file and constructs a 72 dpi bitmap when it can't find one. Sending to the Imagewriter, on the other hand, always gives terrific 144 dpi type with or without the postscript file installed in the system folder. Anyone know when Zaph, Avant Garde and the other Laserwriter fonts are going to be available in TrueType? Having ATM fonts around really muddies up the system folder and takes too much hard disk space. Jeff
