(Or remove them) You can avoid this unpleasant and impractical step if you disable the hard disk, either by setting "NONE" in your CMOS if you have one, or simply disconnecting the cable to the drive (after turning off the power!) Then boot from floppy. Yanking the hard disk controller card if it's separate from the floppy. If you use DOS FORMAT.COM, and not the aftermarket formatters on a floppy then it will be blank. I forgot to say, FORMAT.COM acts very differently on a HARD DISK than it does for a floppy. FOr hard disks, it does NOT do a low-level format.
